Hue is a gesture based color selection tool for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Its layout is optimized for iPhone 5. NOTE: iOS 6 is required to use this app. The original iPad and older models of the iPhone and iPod touch are not supported.

Hue was not made to solve every problem that you may encounter when selecting a color. It was made to make selecting colors a more fun and engaging activity.

A live demo of primary functionality of the app is available at http://quells.net/hue/. It is optimized for iPhone and iPod touch.

Hue renders all text in Futura.

- 24-bit decimal RGB color selection mode
- 24-bit hexadecimal RGB color selection mode
- HSV color selection mode
- Copying to the pasteboard (formatted for current color mode)
- Automatic iCloud syncing of colors between devices
- On iPhone and iPod touch: Quickly switching between two colors to compare them
- On iPad: Compare two colors side-by-side

- CMYK, Pantone, and other print color spaces. It is impossible to ensure that what you see on an iOS devices screen will match what comes out of your printer. Thus, Hue makes no attempt to do so.

- How do I use it?
- There are usage instructions when you first launch Hue. Reinstall if you forget how to use it. There are only a handful of features, though; swiping around for a few minutes should refresh your memory.

- Whats the difference between decimal and hexadecimal?
- They are simply different numbering systems that display the same information. Decimal is the numbering system that most people are familiar with: base 10. Hexadecimal is the numbering system commonly used in computing because it is a compact way to represent binary information.

- Why isnt this app free?
- I am a college student. This helps pay for my tuition. Also, most other color selection tools in the app store are ugly. This one is hopefully less so.
